Greer offers more than 20 parks and facilities for the community to enjoy.

Today, we’re highlighting five of our neighborhood parks:

📌 B.P. Edwards
📌 Greentown
📌 Springwood
📌 Victor Heights
📌 Wards Creek

If your kids need to burn off some energy this summer, these parks are a great place to start. Spread across Greer, each park offers more than just a playground.

B.P. Edwards, Greentown and Wards Creek all feature basketball half courts, and all five parks include open green space with plenty of seating. These neighborhood parks also tend to be quieter, making them ideal for those who prefer to avoid crowds or have sensory sensitivities.

Freedom Blast 2025 in Review 📸:

Team Fastrax kicked off the event by taking to the sky, followed by the MSG Preston B. Johnson Veterans Walk and a military tribute. The Texas Roadhouse rib-eating contest kept the excitement going as families enjoyed the festivities from City Park and downtown. We also can’t forget Back 9 Band's electrifying performance throughout the night.

Thanks again to everyone who attended — we hope to see you next year!

Hundreds of men and women work tirelessly behind the scenes to support our growing city, but this holiday weekend seems a great time to put a few of them in the spotlight.

The folks pictured here are members of Team Greer who have recently celebrated milestone work anniversaries. At the last City Council meeting, Mayor Rick Danner and City Administrator Andy Merriman recognized employees who have been part of our team for five, ten, or 15 years.

We want to say thank you to each of these dedicated public servants.

The Greer Farmers Market is always a great way to shop local, but this week’s event will highlight what grows here naturally.

The “I’m Local” theme will be a celebration of native plants. One of the featured activities is a plant swap – bring a plant & take a plant.

Stop by Greer City Park on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout July and August to support local farmers, artisans, and food truck vendors.

Visit https://greerfarmersmarket.com/ for weekly themes, live entertainment, special guests, and vendors lists.

Freedom Blast 2025 is behind us, and we want to thank everyone who attended and those who helped make it happen.

With more than 20,000 attendees, this year’s event was the largest Freedom Blast to date. It also drew the most veteran participation yet for the MSG Preston B. Johnson Veterans Walk.

Honoring local veterans is what the show is all about, and we’re grateful to the Greer community for showing them the respect they deserve.

We’ll share more Freedom Blast recap coverage in the coming days, so stay tuned.

Freedom Blast will light up the sky tonight in downtown Greer, but some beautiful colors brighten up our streets during the day. The City of Greer’s Urban Parks team thoughtfully plans, plants, and cares for a variety of flowers, plants, and shrubs in our downtown landscaping. Here’s a beautiful example of their work at the corner of Trade and Randall – right in front of the Historic Greer Depot. After the city’s streetscape project wrapped up in 2022, the team planted 16 pink and red hibiscus plants, eight purple diamond loropetalum, eight Golden Globe arborvitae, and two limelight hydrangea trees on that corner. If you’re coming downtown this weekend, be sure to stop and enjoy the result of the team’s hard work.
