Greer150 Announcement: The Big Bash is going to have a Big Finale!
Mark your calendars now for March 28. The Big Bash is going to take over downtown to celebrate the city’s sesquicentennial – 150 years of Greer!
As the final band plays, Stone Entertainment will put on a spectacular laser light show along Trade Street. The light show will cap off a day full of music, community, and time travel.

The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting Thursday morning to celebrate the opening of The Muscle Veteran. Owner Olivia Booth’s mission is to give athletes and veterans the support they need to recover, stay strong, and maintain mobility. She offers sports, therapeutic, and post-surgical massage as well as cupping therapy and stretching.
Fun fact: The Muscle Veteran is located inside Bellamore, which is another woman-owned business in Greer.

Trivia Time: Presidents Day is now commonly observed as a federal holiday honoring all of America’s top elected leaders. However, the holiday’s original purpose was to celebrate George Washington’s birthday. While most people now call the holiday Presidents Day, Congress has never voted to officially change the name.
City of Greer offices are closed Monday, February 16 in observance of Presidents Day. We’ll resume normal operating hours on Tuesday.

Many City of Greer parks and facilities are reopening today including City Park, Center for the Arts park, and a couple neighborhood parks. The basketball courts at Stevens Field are also back open. Trash collection update: We'll resume the normal pick up schedule on Tuesday. There are a few areas that were still to icy for trucks to safely navigate this morning. All parks and athletic fields in the City of Greer remain closed on Monday. Athletic programming is canceled today, but wrestling will resume on Tuesday. Monday trash collection will operate on a delayed start and will be limited due to disposal site closures. We'll keep you posted on the schedule for the rest of the week.

Disposal sites are closed, so the contractor will get as many customers as possible until the truck is full. We'll keep you posted on the collection schedule as we learn it.
Please avoid N. Line Street between E. Arlington Ave and E. Poinsett Street. Greer PD is working a crash, and the roadway is blocked by emergency vehicles. Stay off the roads entirely if you can.
