map shows area of W. Phillips Rd. closure between Gibb Shoals and Twin Magnolia Drive; Tues., Oct. 6 & 7 from 7am to 4pm; No thru traffic in work area; business access from S. Highway 14

TUESDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE: The work on W. Phillips Rd. is nearly finished -- a day early. The team tells us the closure window planned for Wednesday is no longer necessary. That means W. Phillips Rd. will be back open later this afternoon and stay that way!

ORIGINAL STORY:

A section of West Phillips Road will be closed for a couple of days this week.

City of Greer crews will be performing road shoulder maintenance on the west end of W. Phillips Rd. on October 6 and 7. The plan is to close a section of the road from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days. Barricades will block off the work zone from the traffic circle at Gibb Shoals Rd. and just after the Twin Magnolia Dr. intersection coming the other direction from S. Highway 14.

Advance warning signs will go up at the intersection of S. Highway 14 and Johns Rd. No traffic will be allowed to go through the designated work area, but there will be business access from S. Highway 14.

The City of Greer has notified first responders, Greenville County, and school transportation leaders about the temporary closure.

We'll keep you updated if the timeline for the roadwork changes.
