Greer Parks Nomination
Benson Automotive Kids Planet at Century Park and Greer City Park are among the nominees for Kidding Around Greenville's 2027 KABOOM Awards. The annual "Best Of" awards program highlights Upstate family favorites.

Stories & Adventures
This week's Stories & Adventures event for families with young children has a timely theme. As a magical migration moves through Greer, the free event will focus on monarch butterfly conservation.
Stories & Adventures will take flight on Tuesday, September 15 at 10:00 a.m. at the City of Greer's Center for the Arts at 804 Trade Street.
New Downtown Mural
Artist Adam Schrimmer from Blank Canvas Mural Company is wrapping up his second public art project in downtown Greer. The mural on the side of The Great Bay Oyster House building at the intersection of Main and Poinsett Streets welcomes visitors to Greer. The mural also features the Historic Greer Depot and memorializes the city's founding in 1876.
New Fire Marshal
The City of Greer's new fire marshal has been on the job for almost a week now. Jason Lee brings more than 20 years of experience, advanced degrees, and professional credentials to the Greer Fire Department. Fire Marshal Lee will conduct inspections and investigations and support fire prevention and community risk reduction initiatives.
Public Meeting Notice
A request from Prisma Health is on the agenda for tonight's Board of Zoning Appeals meeting at Greer City Hall. The company is asking for a variance to put up signage that exceeds the rules on the size and number of signs allowed by the city's Unified Development Ordinance.
Prisma Health announced a $350 million expansion project at its Greer Memorial Hospital campus in 2025. In its application for a variance, the company says it is in the public interest that it be allowed to have additional signage to avoid confusion and get patients to their destination more efficiently.

Museum Week
The Greer Heritage Museum is kicking off its 30th birthday celebration with a fundraiser tonight at The Clock of Greer at 603 W. Poinsett Street. Museum Week runs from September 14 to September 19. The celebration concludes with a 30th Anniversary Party with free cake.
