Effective August 21, 2026, the City of Greer is suspending its Flock Safety camera system for 90 days. Staff access to the Flock system has been suspended, and cameras in the City of Greer have been physically covered.
“Public trust and public safety are of paramount importance in the City of Greer,” said Greer City Administrator Andrew Merriman. “During the 90-day suspension of the Flock Safety camera system, we will conduct a data-driven analysis of the tool’s effectiveness, evaluate our training and implementation systems, and weigh privacy concerns with the benefit of using this technology to protect life and property in the City of Greer.”
