It's back-to-school time in the Upstate, and the Greer Police Department is sharing some tips to keep both kids and drivers safe. For the next couple of weeks, folks might want to give themselves extra time if their commute takes them through school zones during the times students are arriving at or leaving school.
Sgt. Matthew Wehrly of GPD's Traffic Unit says officers will be out enforcing speed limits in Greer's school zones. Sgt. Wehrly says officers might hand out warnings in the first few days of school, but they'll be writing tickets when warranted. The goal is to keep everyone safe.
