The calendar is packed with free family fun this week in Greer for the final days of summer.
National Night Out
Greer police officers are gearing up for a night of fun and community connection on Tuesday, August 4. The Greer Police Department will host its National Night Out event at Benson Automotive Kids Planet at Century Park from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Entries for the kids' art contest are due by 4:00 p.m. on August 3 at police headquarters at 102 S. Main Street in Greer. Check out the department's Facebook page for more information on the contest and this year's National Night Out event.

Park Hop Playdate
On Thursday, August 6 from 10:00 a.m. to noon, the City of Greer's recreation team is hosting a Park Hop Playdate at Kids Planet.

Moonlight Movies
Hop on over to Greer City Park the night of August 6 for the season's final Moonlight Movies event. Rookie race car, Lightning McQueen, will roar onto the screen in the Pixar classic at 7:00 p.m.
Pre-show activities and crafts start at 6:00 p.m.. Bring a blanket or chairs to enjoy this free family fun event. There will be concessions available for purchase. Children under 16 years old should be with an adult at all times.
August Greer150 Events
This month's Greer150 sesquicentennial event hosted by the Greer Heritage Museum is at the BMW Zentrum. In this Greer150: Rebirth event, the museum team will show what helped pull the city out of a dark time and launch it into the vibrant community it is today.
This sesquicentennial event is on August 29 at 1:00 p.m., but ticket registration will end the week before for security reasons. Reserve your free ticket here before they are sold out!

Greer Station Groove
Also on August 29, the Greer Station Groove will celebrate 150 years of Greer with a free concert. The fun begins at 6:00 p.m. on Randall Street around the Historic Greer Depot. Sweet Soul is a high-energy party and dance band, and they will get you on your feet with music from the 60s and 70s from Memphis to Motown.
