Man takes picture of Mural with phone

Downtown Greer is getting a new mural for the city’s 150th birthday.

Greer City Council voted on a design concept for the mural at its January 27 meeting. The new owners of the old Davenport building agreed to putting the mural on the exterior wall along Randall Street. Artist Adam Schrimmer from Blank Canvas began sketching out the design on the building’s painted bricks on June 10. Since he began painting, Adam has been working on the mural on weekday mornings when the weather permits. Adam has to stop painting when the temperature gets too high for smooth application of the paint.

Many people have stopped by to watch Adam work and to take pictures and videos of the project.

Check out our video to see what the mural looks like so far.

We’ll keep you posted on his progress!
