A Look into Local Affordable Housing

An exciting development is hosting an open house event on Saturday, June 27! Don’t miss this chance to get an inside look at E. Fairview Townhomes. These newly constructed homes in the sunnyside community are part of a long-standing relationship between the city and the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority and are designed to make home ownership more accessible for everyone in the community. Downtown Takes Center Stage

Downtown has seen some action lately! Last week, a team from Dove Light productions began filming for an action movie that will feature parts of Trade Street and the surrounding area. Filming will continue this week, so if you see folks running on rooftops, don’t be alarmed!

 

Celebrating a Well-Earned Retirement

Last week, the Greer Fire Department celebrated the retirement of Fire Marshal Scott Keeley. For nearly 4 decades, his professionalism, knowledge, and passion helped make our community a safer place to live, work, and visit. Congratulations, Scott! Thank you for 38 amazing years of service!

 

Greer Relief Executive Director Receives Order of the Palmetto

Last week one of Greer’s biggest supporters and advocates was awarded the highest civilian honor in South Carolina, the Order of the Palmetto. Caroline Robertson has served the Greer Community for more than 2 decades and has guided Greer Relief’s organizational strategy and long-term sustainability. We are so proud to congratulate Caroline on this well-deserved recognition.

Camp Greer Hits the Streets

Last week our Camp Greer kids hit the ground running with a fun parade with very special guests as we made our way from the Tryon Recreation Center to the Needmore Center! Reedy Rip’it and the Greer High School cheerleaders joined us for a fun morning wrapped up with delicious candy apples provided by Jordan Treats!
