High School Boys Club Rugby

The High School Boys Rugby Program welcomes players of all experience levels to participate in full-contact rugby. Guided by certified USA Rugby coaching staff, the program emphasizes skill development, competition, and sportsmanship. Players compete as part of the varsity team, traveling to Georgia, North Carolina, and other regional locations for weekend tournaments and matches. With a second team recently added, the program offers opportunities for less experienced players to grow and prepare for the Tier 1 team. Alumni of the program have gone on to compete for top collegiate teams, often on scholarship, showcasing the program's commitment to player development and success.

Junior Rugby

The Junior Rugby Program is designed for boys and girls ages 8 to 12, offering a flag version of rugby that introduces young players to the sport in a fun and non-contact format. This coed program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of rugby, including passing, teamwork, and strategy, in a safe and supportive environment. Junior teams compete in local tournaments and events, fostering a love for the game while building foundational skills that can be developed further as players progress.

Registration

Registration opens annually on August 1. The rugby season runs from September through March, with the High School and Junior program practicing at Country Club Park every Tuesday and Thursday evening. The season is divided into four phases: Preseason 7s League from September to November, the Christmas 7s Tournament in December, South Carolina High School Rugby League play in January and February, and Ruggerfest on the first weekend in March, which marks the season’s conclusion.

Christmas 7s Rugby Tournament

The Greer Christmas 7s is a national rugby tournament held at Country Club Park. The event provides a stage for high school clubs to compete against other programs from across the country and to showcase high school athletes in front of college programs.

The tournament began in 2021 and has become a hotspot for collegiate coaches to scout for future athletes.
