Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport Hits a Passenger Traffic Record
Before December even began, the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport celebrated an all-time record number of passengers.
GSP says passenger traffic is up 12.8% over last year, and by year’s end, GSP expects to have served more than 2.8 million passengers in 2024. The airport announced it had surpassed the record set in 2019 as of November 25 – serving 2,612,236 customers up to that point in 2024.
“Our goal is always to provide the Upstate region with unparalleled connectivity and travel experiences,” said Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District President and CEO, Dave Edwards. “We are grateful to our community for helping us reach this milestone and are excited for the continued growth ahead.”

Passengers of a United Airlines inbound flight from Washington-Dulles officially pushed GSP over the 2019 record. To celebrate, each passenger on the record-breaking flight got $100 to put toward their next trip.
2024 was a big year overall for GSP. The airport added a new airline, Breeze Airways, and 11 new routes. GSP made significant progress on its construction project to add parking and improve traffic flow around the airport. For the second year in a row, an industry organization named GSP the Best Small Airport in North America based on customer satisfaction.
